The scenery for one is amazing, and the people are even nicer.

Harvard!

Well after driving around a bit and getting a bit lost! We got there!

We needed to get educated you see, so to Harvard we went!

mmmm Pinkberry fro-yo
We wondered around a bit I enjoyed some awesome Pinkberry fro-yo and then we hit the road home!

Harvard square

Fenway!

Well what a great day!

We woke late, lets be honest it was out first sleep in day so we got up at 830!

We packed up and moved hotels, found that one a lot easier than finding the hotel last night.  I wrote down directions, so that helped, but what a confusing place to drive in.  The transit is great tho, we took that no problem! Dad really enjoyed the air conditioned subway cars! i did too!

We then sat around in the Prudential Center mall, I know right, to try and beat the heat until we went on a Bawston (insert accent) Duck tour.  What a great way to see the city and our driver/tour guide was phenomenal! I highly recommend this tour if you’re ever in Beantown!

The Boston Common, used to be a farm, now a large park in the middle of the city

Bunker Hill Monument

The Pub from the movie "The Town"

The Charlestown Bridge with Boston Gardens in the back home of the Boston Bruins

Fenway Park (to the left of the Citigo sign)

The New Hancock building with the Old John Hancock Building reflecting
We saw lots of great sights around town but unfortunately it was far too hot to explore the sights further.

We made a quick cool down stop, then off to the ball game!

Our tickets to the game!
We arrived at Fenway Park and it is amazing to see it!  We found our seats and enjoyed the game.  We had to have the classic ballpark hot dog! YUM!

Dad at Fenway!
The view from our seats!
Dad and I at Fenway!
Dad in his glory!
Outside Fenway Park at night

Well off to look around Harvard tomorrow morning then on the road again, hopefully making it back to Canada tomorrow!

5 STATES!

Wow what a busy day of driving!

Wind Farms throughout Wisconsin.
We drove from Minnesota through Wisconsin, on to Illinois, Indiana and finally the very edge of Ohio, before stopping for the night at 0100! Talk about Km's on the Vdub!

Cheeseheads!
We only made one wrong turn too which was quickly fixed and we were back on our way! Cool as cucumbers all day with the a/c keeping us comfortable.
The MISSISSIPPI!
Dipping a toe in the MISSISSIPPI

Good ole' Stuart McLean is keeping us entertained so thats good.
Many a toll booth to pass through!
The windy city!

We even made a stop at Notre Dame University totally by accident, we pulled of to have supper and found out that we were 5 mins from the university so we made a quick stop and took a drive around the campus! LOVELY! The old buildings are awesome and we got a chance to stretch our legs a bit!
A total fluke!
Cute little (well he was big) guy at Notre Dame
Admin building "the dome" at Notre Dame

On to Amish country and BOSTON tomorrow!

Night everyone!
Well we (Dad) broke down and had the a/c fixed! What an amazing thing driving is without the windows down and being able to have an actual conversation!

I have never sweat so much in my entire life!
I am not exaggerating one bit!

We stopped in a smallish town (14,000 people, Mitchell, South Dakota) to inquire about getting the a/c fixed and a really nice guy (Kelly at A-1 automotive) was so kind to call ahead to Sioux Falls, South Dakota to the VW shop and ask them if they had the part we needed and time to fix it! Thanks so much again Kelly!

After nearly sweating to death, humidity like I've never felt before, we arrived in Sioux Falls.  We hopped out if the car defeated and into the air conditioned service center where the people there couldn't have been more helpful! Bob in the parts department went out of his way as well as the other staff to help us out, and after 2 tries, (the first part was faulty and they had to do the repair again) we were on our way cool as a cucumber and comfortable!

We drove in the cool car talking to each other and listening to Stuart McLean and the Vinyl Cafe podcast stopped for a quick bite and then headed down the road again where we stopped for the night in Austin Minnesota, home of Hormel foods and SPAM!!!!!!!  All while dodging/not dodging critters and watching the Northern Lights, we even got a police escort to the hotel after just asking directions the policeman showed us where to go!

All in all a very long but successful day! On to the Cheeseheads tomorrow and into and past the great lakes.  I'm hoping to see some Amish communities and take some photos.  No pics today guys as we spent most of it dieing of heat or in the service center.

More interesting tidbits tomorrow I'm sure!

HOT HOT HOT

Wow what a day!
The Rockie Mountains in Montana

I'm telling you I don't know how the residents of Montanna do it but they are a special breed. These people work and live in a climate that is unreal! It was 99 degrees and we had no air conditioning. My dad and I drank 5.5 litres of water today! Talk about thirst!
We could have gone to Manhattan or Amsterdam!?! Weird!

The driving was nice though. We went from Butte, Montana, then through the corner of Wyoming and into South Dakota. We stopped for supper in Rapid City, South Dakota and wow was it humid there! We had a great dinner (air con in the restaurant!) and then travelled on to Kadoka, South Dakota for the night!

Tomorrow will be a lot of driving just like the past two days but maybe it'll cool down enough! We resorted to buying massive 2L insulated drink cups to keep us cool! They are working so worth the 7$ each we paid for them for sure!

Off to bed now...

On the road again...

Well after packing all my belongings in my oh so small car we hit the road to Nelson BC for an overnight visit with my brother and his girlfriend. What a great night of awesome food and hilarious games!
After a relaxing morning and more packing Dad and I hit the road, crossing the border was funny the border gaurd was surprised at our packing job and quickly looked through the car and we were on our way. Since the a/c is broken in my car we are travelling with the windows down, we were pretty hot once we got to Spokane Washington but once we got on the road again after stopping for supper in Idaho, we hit the mountains and were "watching for ice" (as the signs were telling us...if only there was ice) the temps dropped and we cooled off a bit, crossed into Montana and cruised to Butte where we stopped for the night. After cleaning the windshield, lots of casualties, we hit the hay for a nights rest!

Packing again...Argh!

Well, as the time for me to hit the dusty trail, so to speak, draws very near 4 days infact. I am once again packing up my life to prepare to move again.

This is a far harder task than the last time as this time my stuff won't be unpacked right away and I am trying to decide what to take with me to the UK. As all my friends know I love clothes and this is a huge challenge. For sure!

I just don't have the space (or butler services) to bring everything I want to. I am stuck bringing a few things that I love and saving the rest for when I come back from the UK.

Guess I'd better get back at it.
